Our Laboratory Accreditations

Raza Gems LLC is a registered business with each of the following internationally recognised gemological laboratories. This means our gemstones are accepted for testing, our business is known and recognised by these institutions, and the certificates we provide carry the full authority of their respective laboratories.

IGI — International Gemological Institute

The International Gemological Institute is one of the world's largest independent gem certification and appraisal institutes, with laboratories and schools in major cities worldwide including Antwerp, New York, Mumbai, Dubai, Hong Kong, and more. IGI certificates are recognised and trusted by jewellers, retailers, and consumers globally.

IGI provides grading reports for diamonds and coloured gemstones covering: natural vs synthetic identification, colour grading, clarity grading, carat weight, cut quality, and full treatment disclosure. IGI reports include a unique report number verifiable on the IGI website.

GRS — GemResearch Swisslab

GemResearch Swisslab (GRS), based in Lucerne, Switzerland, is a premier specialist laboratory for coloured gemstones. GRS is particularly renowned for its geographic origin determination — one of the most technically demanding tests in gemology. A GRS origin report confirming, for example, that a ruby is of Burmese (Mogok) origin or that a sapphire is of Kashmir origin represents one of the highest levels of third-party verification available in the coloured gemstone market.

GRS certification is highly prized by serious collectors, auction houses, and high-value buyers worldwide. Stones carrying GRS origin reports from prestigious origins consistently achieve premium prices.

Gübelin Gem Lab

Gübelin Gem Lab, founded in Lucerne, Switzerland in 1923, is one of the oldest and most prestigious gemological laboratories in the world. Gübelin is widely considered the gold standard for coloured gemstone certification, particularly for top-quality rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. Their reports are accepted and referenced by Christie's, Sotheby's, and other major international auction houses.

Gübelin has pioneered advanced gemological testing technologies including the Provenance Proof system — a traceable origin verification tool that represents the cutting edge of gemstone provenance documentation.

Additional Laboratories

Depending on the specific gemstone, its value, and the customer's requirements, we also work with additional recognised gemological testing facilities to ensure our customers receive the most appropriate and authoritative certification available. These may include AGL (American Gemological Laboratories), Lotus Gemology, SSEF (Swiss Gemmological Institute), and others.
