The easiest way to find your ring size is to measure a ring that already fits the same finger well, then match it on the chart below. If you have no ring to hand, a strip of paper and a ruler work too.

How to measure your ring size at home

1. Use a ring that fits: lay it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter, edge to edge, in millimetres. Match that number on the chart.
2. No ring? Use paper: wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of your finger, mark where it overlaps, and measure the length in millimetres. That is your finger's circumference.
3. Measure twice: do it at the end of the day, when fingers are a little larger, and avoid very cold hands.

Tips for the right fit

• Knuckles: the ring must slide over your knuckle. If your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, choose a size between the two.
• Wide bands: a wide band or a signet ring feels tighter, so many people go half a size up.
• Between sizes: pick the larger one. A ring can be made slightly smaller more easily than larger.
