About Tanzanite
Tanzanite is the blue to violet variety of zoisite, mined only in the Merelani Hills of northern Tanzania. It shows different colours from different angles, a feature called pleochroism.

- Treatments: Almost all tanzanite is heated to bring out its blue-violet colour; ask us for the lab report on any stone to see its treatment.
