About Padparadscha Sapphire
Padparadscha is a sapphire (corundum) in a delicate blend of pink and orange. The name comes from the Sinhalese word for lotus flower, and the mix of the two colours decides its grade.

- Main sources: Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Tanzania
- Treatments: Padparadscha is often heated, and some stones are beryllium-diffused to create the colour; ask us for the lab report on any stone to see its treatment.
- Care: Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush, and store it apart from softer gems so it does not scratch them.
