This collection lists gemstones that come with an IDL lab report. A lab report is an independent record of what the stone is, describing its identity, weight, measurements, shape and colour, so you can buy with more confidence.
What an IDL lab report tells you
- Identity: it confirms the species, such as natural corundum or beryl, and flags synthetics.
- Measurements: carat weight and dimensions help you match the report to the stone.
- Treatment notes: where tested, it may comment on heating or other enhancements.
- Not a price: a report identifies a stone; it does not set its value.
- Keep it safe: store the report with the stone, as it helps if you insure or pass it on later.
